LittlePiecesOfDark

There are things that do not disappear when they are ignored. They accumulate.

For almost twenty-five years, the creative force had been pressed down beneath the weight of a practical life.

When the drawing finally began in earnest, what came through was not light.

The first works were dark. Black ink only. What emerged from the pen was the accumulated residue of a quarter century: the fears that had never been faced, the emotions that had never been spoken, the feelings that had been pressed so far down they had begun to take on strange and distorted shapes.

This is what LittlePiecesOfDark is: a period in which the artist stopped running from what was stored inside and turned to face it directly. The work from this period is raw. Ugly in places. Uncomfortable to look at. It came from a place where there was no longer any reason to pretend.

LittlePiecesOfDark is dedicated to that passage. To the belief that the only way through the darkness is to look at it without flinching.

Some things can only be made in the dark.
